Ralph's, in Weldon NC, is one of the first barbecue joints one hits on I-95 as crossing the NC border from VA.  The nice lady at the NC Welcome Center pointed me there - "a North Carolina Tradition."

The barbecue was ok, but minced too thin for my taste.  The stew was good, but on the sweet rather than the peppery side.  Great hush puppies though.
