I'm not sure when
I'll get to the Milwaukee area - Culver's home turf, and
I've been wanting to try them for years. I found
one in Belleville, west of Detroit.
Culver's may be
best know for their butter burger. The burger is
fried in butter and the buns are buttered and grilled.
The butter flavor comes through which is great. I
tried the single Deluxe Butterburger, with cheese,
lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
Of course I
couldn't pass up the fried cheesecurds - a great
celebration of all that is Wisconsin.
For dessert, a
turtle sundae - frozen custard (real, honest-to-goodness
custard) topped with hot fudge, caramel and pecans.
Their custard machine runs all day. As fresh as it
gets.
I still need to get
to the original Culver's one of these days, but this
will tide me over until then.
