Center City Philadelphia once again has a German Restaurant - great wursts and a bunch of other authentic dishes.

The wursts include bratwurst, knockwurst and weisswurst.  All are served with an excellent German potato salad.  That's their knockwurst above, to the right.  I've heard a lot of raves about their bratwurst.

The schnitzel sandwich is topped with a horseradish sauce, tomato slice and romaine leaf.  OK, but either the schnitzel was pounded to thin, the schnitzel was overcooked or both.

The fries that came with the sandwich were fresh cut and ok.  They would be even better if they were cooked to order.

Small plates - get that, a German restaurant with a menu section labeled "small"  - are worth eating through. Shown to the right herring rollmops, a laugenbrezel (giant fat pretzel) and leberwurst on rye.  Also an appetizer and done really well, potato pancakes with apple sauce and sour cream.

The draught beer selection is amazing.  I counted twenty, including a bunch of German imports.

I can't wait until Oktoberfest.  There is a balcony that will be a perfect bandstand for an oompah band.
