Big Ed's used to be out at the State Farmer's Market. A while back they moved downtown to the City Market. More yupscale, but same good down home cooking.
Was there for lunch. Between us, chicken and dumplings with greens and yellow squash and chicken fried steak with greens and black eyed peas. For dessert, banana pudding.
I need to get back for breakfast. One of the best in the area from what I hear. Biscuits and gravy, country ham, grits, baskets of biscuits - all sorts of good eating.
There's a parking lot right next to the market.
