If Sweet Lucy's
were located below the Mason Dixon Line I'd probably
give them just four grease-stains. But to pull off
great barbecue in Philadelphia, especially such a
variety of great barbecue, definitely earns them a fifth
grease stain.
I had "Double the
Fun" two meats, two sides, cole slaw and corn bread.
My two meats were brisket and pulled pork. The
sides - baked beans and greens. Other meat choices
- ribs, smoked turkey, smoked sausage and barbecue
chicken. All slow smoked over hickory.
Sweet Lucy's
started off as a trailer. Did such a great job
that after only a year they took over a portion of a
warehouse and grew into a full fledged barbecue
restaurant.
Sweet Lucy?
That would be the owners' 100 pound Newfoundland.
Fortunately she stays home and customers don't have to
wrestle her for their plate of ribs.
