My
first time with Peruvian fare, but it's similar in many
ways to Colombian. A lot of starch and carbohydrates
- mostly roasted potatoes and rice. Started
with a dish that dates back to Incan times, Anticuchos
(top left), slices of marinated cow heart, skewered and
charcoal Broiled. Think it was probably my
first time with cow heart too. Texture seemed very
much like skirt steak - it's just another muscle. Next
to the Anticuchos nother appetizer, Peruvian tamales,
ground white corn, filed with spiced meat, and steamed in
a banana leaf. Entrees
- on the left, grilled beef steak. On the right,
Polada, marinated chicken breast. Dessert,
one of the best flans I've ever had.
