A
great destination to dig into a proper English
Breakfast. I went for eighteen pounds sterling
worth, the Ten Deadly Sins. Started with fresh
squeezed orange juice, black coffee and a chocolate
croissant. A pitcher of orange juiced stayed with me
the entire meal. And had I wanted cream added to the
coffee, the server poured, a nice touch. On
to the 10 Deadly Sins. All on one plate.
Cumberland sausage, fried egg, streaky and back bacon,
black pudding, lamb's kidneys, fried bread, grilled
tomato, bubble and squeak, grilled mushrooms and baked
beans. I
don't get British baked beans. Most places just use
Heinz from a can. Give me a ladel full of Boston
baked beans any time. But they work fine with the
breakfast and everything else was outstanding. Simpson's
is famous for their breakfasts and their prime rib at
dinner. Britishers told me to go just for breakfast,
and I did.
