If the road you
turn onto off the main road into Bluff City looks like
there's no chance a world class barbecue operation is
around the bend, you're heading the right direction.
The only hint is a very small Ridgewood sign at the
turn.
Ridgewood Barbecue
has been around since 1948. Their specialty -
barbecued fresh ham. Sliced and topped with their
fresh cut french fries or stacked on a bun and topped
with coleslaw. Either way, be sure to top it with
their sweet sour sauce.
And order a side of
Mrs. Proffitt's barbecue baked beans.
They're flavored with Ridgewood barbecue sauce with some
chunks of pork mixed in. Easy eating.
The smoke house is
a small wood shack down the road a bit.
