I've
been hearing about Lenny's for years. Finally made
it there. Glad I did. A bit of a drive off
I-95 in the New Haven area, but worth it. I
started with Rhode Island Clam Chowder. Rhode
Island, which is broth based, seems to be the black sheep
of chowders - most outside of Rhode Island prefer New
England or Manhattan style. Not me. I'm a
convert to Rhode Island clam chowder. The
clams were gigantic, plump, tender and delicious.
Only objection, the clams are batter fried. I prefer
breaded with corn meal. Fresh cut french fries too,
though not twice fried.
