Ribs in the Rough.  There are a few roadside stands like The Kingfish along Rte. 40 between Mays Landing and the Jersey Turnpike.  The Kingfish was the only one I found open on a balmy April Sunday.   The ribs are good, but a little tough.  The chicken great.  And the barbecue sauce, heavy on the smoke with touches of heat and sweet, among the best I've had.  Also on the menu, Whiting and a Chicken / Rib Combo.  Sides include greens, beans, cornbread, and potato salad - all homemade.
