Location... Location... Location...  That's a good enough reason to head to Jersey Joe's.  It's right across the road from Sandy Hook Bay.  In between a quiet park, perfect for fighting off the seagulls while chomping an Italian Hot Dog or Sausage Sandwich.

This is the second generation of Jersey Joe's - the dogs and sausage are deliciously true to their heritage.  Either is fried in oil, along with potatoes, onions and green peppers and served, single or double on a wedge of pizza bread - like Italian bread, but a round loaf.

I had to try their Italian Fried Clam sandwich (upper right).  Not bad, but would have been better with fresh clams rather than clam strips.

A great way to do the Jersey Shore without the crowd's and ticky-tacky.
