Sandwiches you can
dig into. Lots of meat. Perfectly cooked. Nice and
juicy. Pork, rib eye, turkey and for the Thanksgiving
period, turducken - turkey, duck and chicken with
stuffing, cranberry sauce and topped with hash brown
medallions.
Weekdays at lunch
and dinner Jake's roasts a pig and hand carves it to
order. Your choice of sauce and toppings
First time there I
went for Barn Yard sandwich - pulled pork, ground veal,
sweet peppers, spinach and sharp provolone.
Next time, their
sloppy dog. Two grilled hot dogs with sweet peppers,
grated cheddar, mushrooms and topped with fries. I would
have preferred a smaller roll, but once I got past the
excess bread, a great flavor combination.
Other sandwiches
shown - the steak and egg - a steak sandwich with
American cheese and topped with a fried egg and the
Schmeer - sliced turkey with spinach, provolone and
roasted peppers.
Sides are good but
don't match up to their sandwiches which are great.
The fries start off frozen and the onion rings had a
heavy breading and were a bit too long in the
fryer.
Jake's mixes things
up with specials during the week - just making the
decision tougher. This is the sort of sandwich menu I
could easily work my way through.
