Freddy
and Tony's is probably the most user friendly of the
Puerto Rican restaurants located in the North 5th Street
area. Most of the servers speak English and the menu
is both in English and has pictures of many of the dishes. They
also serve the best Mofongo I've had. Mofongo is a
ball of crushed plantain with crisp pork skin served in
gravy. The gravy is optional but recommended. Right
of the Mofongo is a pork chop platter. $6 gets you
two pork chops, a bunch of testones (fried plantain chips
brushed with garlic) and a salad.
