Chef Gillian Clark started Colorado Kitchen because the neighborhood needed a good
restaurant. Now she mans the range pretty much on
her own and turns out
well over a hundred meals on a busy evening. Very
impressive.
The Colorado
Kitchen is also a little upscale for HollyEats. Or
not. It's mostly solid - very solid - down home
cooking with some creativity added when Gillian feels
creative.
Dishes like the
meat loaf above and the pineapple upside down cake - not
to mention the incredible biscuits - basic eating - but
prepared extraordinarily well. Gillian's
creativity comes in with the Monkfish Schnitzel to the
upper right or the lobster corn dog.
I can't imagine a
trip to DC without at least one meal at the Colorado
Kitchen.
