Autumn, especially October, is a beautiful season to
spend some time in Maine. The colors are
spectacular.
Come feeding time,
there is plenty of good eating to be had at the annual
Boothbay Fall Foliage festival - over a weekend in early
October. Chowder, fish cakes, caramel corn,
sausages, fresh cut french fries, baked goods, lemonade,
and all sorts of other fair fare.
Most fun was the
caramel corn guy. Big brass kettle. Stirring
the corn with a paddle until it pops and then pouring into
the kettle and mixing in the caramel.
There other reasons
to visit Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor in October.
Far less crowds than over the summer and all the stores
are having great sales to unload their inventory before
the close until next year.
