I
grew up about 10 miles from The Anthony Wayne and it was a
regular Saturday lunch stop with my father. Great to get back. They painted the building,
which I wish they hadn't. It used to be a nice
woodsy deep brown. Other than that it hasn't changed
much in 30 years. My burger tasted exactly as I
remembered it. The
Anthony Wayne charcoal broils everything over a real
fire. Therein lies the difference. My
favorites are the steak sandwich, the burger topped with
raw onion and red relish and the mixed grill - a
cheeseburger topped with smoked ham. Good
charcoal broiled hotdogs, too. The
dining rooms are large, spread out, and early
American. In warm weather there are tables outside
among the gardens.
